The VeoloSolex is a bicycle with a 49cc motor, not a moped. It really does need the bicycle pedals that are standard equipment. The VeloSolex's strong point was not power. The VeloSolex was cheap; cheap to buy and cheap to ride. It was simple; 80 percent of it could be fixed with one wrench. Running on a mixture of gas and oil, its 1,25 litre tank could propel you for 100 kilometers - and further, if downhills outnumbered the uphills. Ancond if you just loved yours, that was maintenance enough. It was invented in 1946 in France, it became hugely popular as a low cost reliable transport after the decimation of the Second World War. It has a classic desig and brilliand practicality, which is why over 8 million have been sold, mainly in Europe and Scandinavia. They have a tremendous reputation for being fun, reliable and economical.
