Free Ride was formed in the spring 2000. By that time there was  Tapani Ollonen (gtr,vox), Kimmo Keränen (gtr), T.Nylund (b) and J.Hämäläinen (dr) in the group. Some gigs was played and trained with this line-up until spring 2002 as T.Nylund left the band. A new bassist Rane Hemminki was found already by summer and a few gigs was played with him in the autumn 2002 until the drummer J.Hämäläinen decided to leave the band because of work. A new drummer was found quickly as Timo Lindholm (The Howl, Monsterspank,Lambs) stepped behind the drums. Training begun immediately and in the spring 2003 a three song demo cd was recorded at the LLAI studio in Tornio. The first gig with this line-up was on 23.8.2003 at Levi's Hullu Poro Arena. In 2004 Free Ride released a 4 song ep titled Troublemaker. In 2006 Free Ride released a new demo titled Blues overload, and soon after the release Rane Hemminki left the band. New bass player was found quickly, just after weeks Rane left the band Rebel stepped into the Free Ride line up. Future seems promising, there are some new recordings coming up and also few gigs.
