EXPERIMENTING WITH PERFORMANCES 2003
WINGS

I continued on the basis of my earlier performances in 2002.
This time I wanted to make wings
for dreams, longings, things that make the hearts beat
and life worth living.
Instead of striving all the time
there is a possibility to fly,
show the secret wings to others!

I went out again to be with people
in a communication that I have felt to have aspects
that I would call non-dual.
Sharing something without expectations,
without prejudices, without polarisations.

THE RED ONE'S

The Red One's was a series of three performances
where I was examining communication via textmessages
and what would the actual communication be when we
- strangers - got together.
I sent messages to people and asked them to forward them
to people they knew.
The message was: Come to a meeting point and wear red clothes.
take some food and something to drink with you.

Meetingpoints:
1. A picnic in a Park
2. A long walk through the Central Park
3. Trams in Helsinki- red one's joining together when seeing each other.
Meal afterwards in a restaurant at 2 o'clock pm.

A FERRY

This was a three day performance together with mr. Peltonen.
We built two ferries and set off a four hour traffic
from one shore to another over a seagulf.
There was also a bridge over which you could easily walk in one minutes time.
People were asked to send messages to the other shore,
to people they did not know.
What would they like to say to a stranger?

On the end of the bridge they could pick up a message themselves
with a yellow or red rose that I had bought in the morning
from the market square.

ICE-CREAM CHAIR

I was working in a hospital a few years ago.
I worked with a group of elderly people suffering from dementia.
We were painting, singing, bursts of poetry were present, too.

This affected me a lot. And there was an idea for this performance.
We went out with Markku Peltola and Ilona Valkonen. We had three chairs, a rug and clothing with texts:
a Catcher, a Feeder, Camera.
We asked people to come and sit on a chair.
One of us went to a cafe to buy ice-cream.
Then one of us started to feed him or her.

This performance lasted 3 hours/day
and we did it on three days in the middle of the city.
